Chen Yong serves as assistant professor at the Institute of International Relations, Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS). His Research interests focus on civil-military relations, naval research and China-US Maritime Security. He majored in International Relations and received Ph.D. degree from PekingUniversity. He has published a number of papers in World Economics and Politics （世界經濟與政治）and The Journal of International Studies（國際政治研究）etc. He also co-translated Randall Schweller’s Unanswered Threats：Political Constraints on the Balance of Power.
